Our summer ended its grand stay,
and verdant leaves will soon display
a red and orange burnished hue.
October, how we welcome you.
And one by one, in cool, crisp air
they swirl and whirl to fall with flare
as leafy quilts make their debut.
October, how we welcome you.
Your autumn brush paints flower art,
while bright, bold colors warm the heart-
as Marigold and Mum will do.
October, how we welcome you.
Dull atmosphere, you somehow cleanse;
as pure, dry air improves our lens
makes scenes more vivid- skies, more blue.
October, how we welcome you.
But, best of all, your harvest time
of orchard fruits- crisp apples, prime;
close gatherings at bonfires too!
October, how we welcome you.
