Oblivion Crave - Anacreontic Verse

Written: December 09, 2023 ______________________________________ Honeyed gold pearled shades brown ferns and aspens into shadowed paths lit embers and oaks As darkness draws near, with bowed tears of stark runic streaks of light dapple my sky showing only maze of black enigmas crimson, lucid blaze. leading to plum sky. Swift shades drape my thirst like dim-lit daydreams that persist through time niggling at my nerves in sparkling strings of stern frame blush skyline! whilst glum chorus swells in ghostly darkness. Gloom morphs darned mayhem veiled cinereal shroud as she touches me gazing with sleek sight hushed tones, wan relics of laid skyline bleeds lost in shades of rouge Onyx oboe chords. The blaze has withered oblivion crave.

Wow, this poem compelled me to re-read it twice since I wanted to decipher its every delicate meaning, weaved so eloquently with artistic colour references! Your word choices are truly impeccable here and the depth here is just so profound.. I too, tried writing my first Anacreontic verse poem today, but I still have so much to learn! Reading yours, just reflects vivid wisdom through darkness and light "Honeyed gold pearled shade", "leading to plum sky", " of laid skyline bleeds.. rouge" Woww

It seems that only hope can deter feeling of a coming experience of oblivion. The silence of night beckons to your soul to sooth and comfort you. it allows you to feel worth and comfort from the ghostly darkness. I wonder at times if darkness can be comforting just a light can be revealing, if silence offers peace and solitude just as music can touch our souls. I can feel the depth of your considerations in this difficult form of poetry you have created for us. Thank for sharing, Bill

You seem to be craving the burn rather than the oblivion. You want to go on...even after dark. I lloved this. Your gift is potent and true.

dearest Sotto--your poem fascinates me. I am compelled to read it two or three times to understand the depth of your images. I, too, sometimes crave mental blankness. If I'm interpreting your words correctly, you're describing a blazing sunset with runic streaks of light...leading to a beautiful plum sky that Darkness, though, takes away the magical moment...moments you crave...and moments that can also be found within the hushed tones of night. That's my take. Compelling! Loved it, Sara
