Whispers of compassion within Sun seeping through limbs with a grin Naked trees dancing… so defined With shades of insights so refined Song bids my heart to always try Melting clouds who glide round the sky Silence softens feelings that spin Releasing fires that burn the skin Assuring the soul it’s not blind But alive with joy to remind It’s not only the leaves who fly Also, one whose love can’t deny Sweet November rain splashes in Washing away dust of old sin Capturing the moment designed By a Holy God who is kind And reveals the how, when and why Some people laugh while others cry Dreams and passions soon will begin Breaking darkness with love’s light when Hope and faith have their way combined Hailing God’s light that is aligned Blessing so alive we might cry November reminds what is nigh Blankets of frost where buds have been Mornings that chill the naked skin Breaths of ice that seem so unkind Tugging at the soul from behind Foes freezing, changing to the shy November twinkling, like a sigh Lay November Poetry Contest Sponsored by: William Kekaula October 26, 2020 I used Rhymezone and howmanysyllables.com

Such peaceful beauty in this poem. Too bad Ideals magazine doesn’t exist anymore. This would have been perfect for it. God bless you!

Kudos, Gina for writing such a long LAY poem. I know it is so hard to execute, especially with the rhyme constraints. Great imagery shines in your November.
