November Stars Premiere Contest Winner

November falls In languid swirls Of lacy sorrowful leaves Waning circles Of shortened light How bold the cold becomes Clearing the weighty clouds From the pristine ebony ice Of the heavens Their astral beauty Reflecting your eyes As your hand follows The celestial lanes of comets All while the topaz earth Covers our feet With the comfort of gravity Yet I will always Hold you higher As high as the Searchlight of your heart As high as Numberless destiny As high as the Spirals of the sky Guiding us north Even if we Fall short of the moon We still have The infinity Of stars 11/26/22 Poem of the Day - 11/28/22 First Place, Brian Strand Premiere Contest #53

Dear Michelle, I was swept up and away in the soaring soulful beauty of your verse. I adore your use of earthly and heavenly imagery creating a vivid contrast; your feet on the topaz earth but your eyes lifting your thoughts to the skies. I enjoyed the wistful and loving spirit of this piece. Your last five lines a grand finale to an exquisite poem! Congratulations for both your brilliant trophy win and POTD honors. Well-deserved accolades! Warmest wishes, my inspiring friend.. ~Susan

To fly to the stars, or to have feet firmly planted on the ground? The eternal question. Love is both, as you have so artistically painted with words. I love the way you think, and the truly original way you write. I particularly love "The celestial lanes of comets" and "All while the topaz earth Covers our feet With the comfort of gravity". Congratulations for POTD and your trophy... going in my faves to enjoy again and again.
