Autumn harvest has come around Bountiful treasures do abound Silencing the whispers of doubt With a joyful and vibrant shout November beckons to the soul Who desires the chance to console ~ Autumn rains suppress the urge to Grasp a struggling heart who is due For more than merely an embrace But should find true love in someplace Where sunlight glints across the earth Meeting the day like giving birth ~ Autumn dances throughout the night Calling to stars and moon til’ light Whispering soft, embracing hope Leaving hurt for new ways to cope Echoes of passion comfort hearts With music that blesses, then starts ~ Autumn leaves the soul with a muse Peppering gentle bliss we choose Trusting the moment to heaven With joy seventy times seven Creating feelings of insight That assure us of our birthright ~ Autumn legends spark sweetest dreams Leaving the soul flowing down streams Where hues of compassion do thrive Keeping love’s gentleness alive Capturing the pleasure inside When faith, hope and love do collide

Lots of lovely fall imagery in this spiritual poetry. I think it should do really well in the lay contest.
