This was written when I saw a large black dog with a white badmitton birdie on his nose sitting amid a bunch of black ducks in a pond.

Pretend like you do not notice I said to my husband Notice what? I pointed to the pond. My husband looked. He missed it. Not once, but several times. He finally left, irritated because I would not tell him what it was. My girlfriend came over and said "Guess what I just saw in your pond?" I already knew. Don't alarm the ducks, I told her. They have not noticed yet. "Noticed what?" asked my husband.
