Nothing More To Lose

As shadows set and day departs,
dusk bruises the sky black and blue.
And like a billion bleeding hearts,
the sun adopts a crimson hue.
Infidelity's surreal,
severing my heart in mid-beat.
And although your love wasn't real,
leaving; is a difficult feat.
Wounded feelings fester within
as the sun abandons the sky.
And tomorrow cannot begin
with the words of a whispered lie.
Filling my heart with fear and dread,
depression and anger compete.
And when I think of what was said,
I'm blown away by your deceit.
I feel robbed that love didn't last,
and I question my heart for clues.
My trust lies betrayed in the past,
and now, I've nothing more to lose.
