Noah heard the forecast and realised he must build an ark It had to be impermeable for when they finally disembark. They faced forty days and forty nights of torrential precipitation Thank goodness Noah was constructing the ark for this situation To invigorate Noah he could see the storm clouds were gathering He knew that they must work quickly or they would get a battering The requisite was it must be huge to hold animals and his family When animals boarded two by two, it was a spectacular sight to see When they reached dry land they were met with falling snow Snow is formed by crystallization in case you didn’t know! Water is essential to our daily life, we need it for our hydration It is sent to us from heaven above – thank God for precipitation! 04~04~16 N/A in original contest - submitted to Screwed XIII sponsored by Rob Carmack 1 original, poem on the theme of THE ELEMENT OF WATER! The only limitations for this contest is that you must include these 6 words in your poem: 1) HYDRATION (2) REQUISITE (3) PRECIPITATION (4) IMPERMEABLE (5) INVIGORATE (6) CRYSTALLIZATION.

I'm smiling here Jan. Mine must have some from too much sun down here in Australia. I am more used to constant rain, like you.

We have had rain for 3 days and my friend said we better start to build an ark - hence the creation of the poem - I wasn't going to enter the contest as I found the words so restrictive then voila here it is:-) hugs Jan xx

I was scratching my head on how to use the words which seemed to be so dry and impossible to use in a poem. But here you go creating such a wonderful poem with such ease. Great, Jan, and all the best for the contest.

Good use of the required words, Jan. Like the theme of Noah and the flood, of which I've written my share. I'm at work (you're the first to know) on a biography of Noah, entitled "Forty days and nights of seasickness." As to the water of my poem, no, it wasn't Handel's Water Music. I was thinking more of a few pieces by Chopin and Schubert. / M

Errrr .... I hold my hands up and confess I have used JUST a little poetic licence Daniel ... as the title says .. not quite Noah's ark lol:-) hugs Jan xx

I see that I wasn't the only one that took a Biblical angle (LOT of water!) ... ha ha. Your "matter 'o fact" crystallization line was funny. But of course a lot of the stuff you write often makes me giggle, so it's no surprise .... you know, considering the tight space of thousands of different animals, this COULD have gone in a very different direction ... think of all that waste removal! LOL!

Ha ha love your comment especially about the waste disposal - it is amazing but VERY occasionally I can write about subjects other than poop lol. I hope your poem will top the podium it is exceptional :-) hugs jan xx
