Nocturne
Moon in the sky,
Bright luna glow;
A nocturne high,
Fond dazzle shows.
Late night swings dark,
Watch shadows creep;
A sleepy spark,
Plunge of deep sleep.
Snores tell of rest,
Primal night knows;
Sense dreamy quests,
In drowsy flow.
In my bed now,
I wait for sleep;
I don't know how,
Snooze can fall deep.
I take a peek,
See slant of lights;
Sheer darkness seeks,
Contort strange sights.
From this dark room,
The moonlight far;
Deep night lulls gloom,
Devoid of stars.
A nocturne here,
Greets simple wish;
To rise with cheer,
As joy fills dish.
