Nightmare

When we locked eyes I was taken aback, because you often visited my dreams. Your scent almost gave me heart a attack, I readjust, nothing is what it seems. Suddenly you took me by total surprise, by brushing my face with your fingertips. It felt better than viewing a lovely sunrise, next you placed a soft kiss on parted lips. Darling, you brought desire from the dead if this is just a dream, I want to be lost. Your kiss was filled with passion, enough said, I don't want this to end at any cost. You're fading and that's something I can't bare This wasn't a sweet dream it was a nightmare. 10-20-17 Alexis Y.

Alexis, when a sweet dream ends, the reality of not being able to keep it becomes your living nightmare... wish sweet dreams could go on forever... your poem is thought provoking and enchanting and has such a sweet melancholy feeling to it with a regrettable and tragic ending. Well done and enjoyed!

It is the nightmare of the lover to see his/her beloved go away but still sweet dreams soon will follow for the heart cannot live without love! Beautiful my friend, Alexis!

Excellent melancholy tone ... full of passion and sadness, Alexis. A wonderful tragic romance sonnet. That is the worst kind of romantic feeling I suppose, when love truly starts for one person ... and it ends, gets extinguished just as the fire of passion was getting started. Powerful poetry, dear. Love and smiles.

Great write on a dream that turns into a nightmare, love that cannot be. I really enjoyed seeing this sonnet from you, Alexis.
