Mama and them, took us aside
When we cried
She wiped our eyes
She grandma and Auntie
Bathed and feed us
Took us to church learnt us bout' JESUS
And when it was time for bed
We kids would put on pajamas and them night shoes
~
NIGHT SHOES
We won't need in glory
On them heavenly golden grounds
NIGHT SHOES
Worn in the daylight
Shines in steps of grace
When grandpa died grandma said he paid his dues
Ole granny told the mortician, sir, please dress him in them old
