Night
A walk in the night
Can be nice and comforting
Darkness that is soothing
And anxieties are ebbing
Into the dark, that is
Where to go, to help you
Relax after a long day
Leave behind all previous
Thoughts and walk under
The new starry night sky
The stars twinkle and the
Moon shines greatest of all
The little ball in the sky
That looks it can be picked
Up in a single swoop
It”s dazzling and enchanting
Leaves you dazed and unaware
Of the danger all around you
And one of those dangers shows
Its face behind you, stalking you
And licking its lips in utter anticipation
Then it pounces and takes you down
No scream is heard in the night
And it is now calm and silent
