New Year's Resolution

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION 

What is the fuzz about?
Ah, yes! New Years’ resolution.
Say, what? New Year’s resolution?
Are you going to make one again?

It would only be good for a week, a month
maybe, giving the benefit of the doubt.
What would it be this time? Lose weight,
go on diet, eat healthy, exercise, go to the gym.

New Year starts a second after midnight.
If you are celebrating New Year’s Eve, 
welcoming the New Year, you are already
breaking New Year’s resolutions of going 
on diet or eating healthy for you are more
likely over stuffing yourself or eating junk
food with your drinks, probably alcohol
or diet soda … sabotaging your resolution.

I have an easy New Year’s resolution.
Embrace, love and enjoy yourself.
Amuse and have fun with yourself.
Anyway, you’re always with yourself,
twenty four hours a day, three hundred
sixty five/sixty six days a year …..

Let the music on, listen to lift your soul.
You have your own musical instrument,
your voice, use it, hear it … sing out loud…
No excuses, if you’re shy, sing while you
shower; if your voice goes out of tune
or could not reach low or high note,
don’t get frustrated, laugh… you tried.

Dance, move to the music for nobody
has two left feet … put your feet on a
wet rag, towel and start mopping the
floor; now you’re dancing, exercising.

When you’re down and lonely, don’t
go to downtown or mall to go shopping,
spending your money for alcohol or things
you don’t need more stuff like designer
this, designer that to feel better and whole.

Write, jot down your feelings and what
trigger making you feel down, blue.
Call somebody or send a card to say hello
or write something good to yourself.

Stay positive for when you feel good about
yourself, you feel wonderful in and out.
Who needs New Year’s resolution, eh?
You can kiss it and kick it goodbye, yeah!

Or to end on a good note…. you would
probably keep your New Year’s resolution
of staying positive when you embrace, love
and enjoy yourself ... yes? no?
It is all up to you!
