New Girl

New girl. Fresh meat. Everyone wants to be her friend. To find out her deepest darkest secrets. So they can have the right material To make her feel sad like the others new girls. New girl Wiser now Keeps her thoughts to herself. Enters this school determined to build a wall. Reinforces it with poetry and stories. Reinforces it with cat and dog love. Sadness increases. New girl. Third school in two years. Completely closed off now. Needing no one. Glad for they are never there. Having their own friends And not needing one more. Wall gets built higher.

I grew up in a small small town, where if your family has only lived there through two or three generations, you are still the "new kid".

New Girl But sadly accustomed to Mean Girls And false praise and friends Great write Caren very insightful As someone who moved regularly friends are transient. Getting close and forming relationship's is difficult and pointless. And people always treat you as an outsider

My children had their fill; we moved them over thirty times when they were in grade school so I know about moves.

More children are in my office crying because they "trusted" someone who violated their trust than almost any other reason. I always say "Trust no one". NO ONE! And the sad ones are already the ones who can trust no one, so why they trusted these little "awfuls" is anyone's guess.
