Nevermore

I stepped inside a theater today, Beckoned within my heart to stay. Inside the room, Red lantern’s burned, While Hawthorne spoke Poe’s Poetic Verse. Upon the floor His stance was firm The Gothic Romantic Expounding his words. First here then there His dramatic display, Left everyone viewing His words for the play. Of yesteryear … in a world bygone, Yet in Poe’s fine Works His spirit lives on. Then on the stage brought to full-life, The trunk in the corner, His Cloak within sight. Lenore his love Left him suddenly bewildered, And he ached not knowing Her fate delivered. And the Raven upon The bust of the girl… Releasing atlas The Raven’s Final Words … “Nevermore!”
