Natural Things Happen Before Dawn

Yellow cat eyes follow Laughing at their own whit Snarling gently But growling only within Faerie startles Wanting something better Not knowing what Wishing she did Garden magic Seeping into the meadow Carrots poking through Their green unique A lazy day The world is asleep As natural things happen Outside, before dawn Brownies and elves Forming into butterflies And grasshoppers Sprinkling grass with dew.

A poet's eyes must be sharp enough to see the poking carrot and the seepage of garden into the meadow among faeries and elves. I love such eyes. I enjoyed every line. It's great, Caren.
