Nanaimo

~~~ Nanaimo, B.C. ~~~
Nestled in the center of this Pacific isle,
a gem of a city, your heart it will beguile.
Nicest climate in all of our Country fair.
Air fresh from the ocean surrounding us there.
Imagine a city filled with parks all around,
mountains behind us as nature abounds.
Oh, the beauty of this place simply astounds.
Be sure to stop by if you're ever this way.
Chances are you will love it and you'll want to stay.
Hey Francine, I've only seen pictures of BC and now you've given me another image to match. Amazing to have tropical flora in place close to the North Pole than the Equator.
the local aboriginal band is the Snuneymuxw, I'm sure when the white explorers heard it for the first time it sounded like Nanaimo ( Naa - Nye- Moe)
Dear Francine, Nanaimo sounds so beautiful! Love the way you describe having the "nicest climate." So many folks have complained about the past winter. Wishing you success in the contest! Also wanted to ask you about Simon Jackson and the Spirit Bear, a story of B.C. Have you ever seen one? Love, Carolyn
Can it be seen on a clear day from the top of Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park? You have described a nice place to visit.
