a voice out in the dark
miles between us
silences so stark
longings unexpressed
may as well die in the night
guilty of keeping quiet
when it was time to speak
yet the capturing of sunrises
in their misty morn
shouting volumes
the world around us full awake
we in our stillness mute the wait
sinking in seas vast of loneliness
their weight increasingly unbearable
