My Trinity
MY TRINITY
(Terza Rima Sonnet)
I've felt their presence housed at home in me
upon my head, my shoulder, light as leaf--
and to this day their calm is certainty,
for as a child I held this strong belief.
They've guarded me in health, and so in ill,
in praise for joy, in growth, and so in grief.
What do you make of tiny spirits still
and sweet, who sit beside you as they nest
inside your heart and in your mind and will.
They guide with healing thoughts, I do attest.
I am content to know the Holy Three
to have to hold, and so I have this rest.
Since my childhood years they've stayed with me.
They've given guidance--calm security.
