My Soul Recognizes Musical Brilliance
My soul recognizes musical brilliance well ahead of the rest of me
she might leap with joy at a melody I have not noticed
But I notice her leap, and then pay attention of course.
I often ask my husband “what genre is this?” for he is the musician.
I am a mere bystander; I do not even clap on rhythm.
My soul, however, she is discerning to the utmost degree.
She swiftly flies from do not hear or notice to I LOVE THIS MUSIC!
I do not think she hears the words, I know I don’t.
But when a melody catches her heartstrings, stand back.
She is on fire with the joy of it.
I love that about her; for then I pay attention too.
Recognizing it somehow, maybe in a past life?
