I’m so happy sitting with my mom here.
We cuddle on the steps by our front door.
Our cat is here too bringing me such cheer
and nearby is my bike that I adore.
My clothes are hanging by our house so small
right next to us on a tiny clothesline.
My life is simple. I don’t mind at all.
I love Mom’s cooking. Everything is fine.
I wait for Daddy to come home to us
and give a great big hug to Mom and me.
I’m not ashamed that Daddy takes the bus.
Each day all that I love I get to see.
My simple life is filled with such delight
I thank God every morning and each night.
