My sorrowful spirit rose high above the rainbow, higher yet, until it reached the snowy peaks of the ragged mountain. It was cold there, though above the severe sun blazed hard. Here and there rivulets tumbled roughly down the mountainsides, and occasionally meet to form a river that cascaded downwards towards the high cliff beneath the hills. The icy waters fell towards the crags, forming a waterfall of fresh water, producing a constant melody as the waters hit the plain, forming a delightful and narrow lake. Birds above twittered delightfully, a serene sight and sound that pleased my sad spirit. Tall verdant pines exuded delightful fragrance. How I wish I could stay there forever. But my tired body beckoned and my spirit returned to my lonesome solitary bed.

We long to linger in places that are calming and pleasing to our senses. But reasoning pulls us back to reality making us think that we should return to our surroundings however lonely and dull it may be. Your descriptions of nature are so beautiful, dear Victor.

The birds above twittered in a delightful symphony, a serene sight and sound that soothed a weary spirit. The tall, verdant pines exuded a delightful fragrance, a scent that you wished could linger forever. Your tired body beckoned, and your soul returned to your solitary bed. Yet, I longed for the journey to continue, because as always the imagery you captured here was truly astounding dear Victor ..Hugs

Our spirits sometime long to remain behind at certain times or in certain places but our brain, our mind knows we must return , the holiday ends, and reality kicks in. Wonderful poem, great theme. Hugs and blessings, JENNIFER.

Your spirit relates to the surrounding nature. rivulets tumbled roughly down the mountainsides…I feel as though I am there with each descript of the experience. We often feel: How I wish I could stay there forever. But then we must return from vacation or from our dream to our current situation. Hugs, my friend!

Dear Victor, Well penned that we can go to the mountain top, but we eventually have to come back to the reality of everyday living. I am always reminded that our God is faithful, and one day we will not return to our current state but have a life that he prepares for us. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
