My Reflection
I stood there and stared at her
My reflection so broken and scared
There's just too many cracks
Its beyond any repair
I fell into darkness
For a long time at that
I couldn't see a way out
With shattered pieces around my feet
One shard stood out
A heart so big and bright
It may be broken
But it still has a lot of fight
"Its okay to be broken,
To be scared and bruised
Because its never been the outside
That made you who you are"
I gently picked up my heart
Cutting myself along the way
It may be broken still
But a light shines from within
Taking a step forward
I smile at myself
"I'm going to be fine.
One broken piece at a time"
