My Private Universe
My private universe is wandering around
Dragging a feathered boa that glitters with sparkles
I can wait for it to return or run to chase it
Depending on my mood
My private universe is making fun of my enemies
Laughing and smirking but keeping it out of my sight
For I do not go in for this kind of stupidity
She knows this and stays away
My private universe is dancing now
I see her head up into the snowy mountains
There are delicate lavender flowers at the base
Which she is stomping on
I imagine that she is swearing like a pirate king,
And I smile, thinking of all the words I dare not utter
For I work in a school, and would lose my job if I did.
My private universe is all the things I am not,
Yet fully a part of me I barely hope to recover.
