Notes About The Poem

I remember when all I popped was a Flintstone vitamin.

-- quote from Poet

My Pill Box Says So

is it Friday already; my pill box says so
how many Fridays have fallen
into my palm. my nickname
is Friday, and I pop
my morning pills, interminably
mindful of ginkgo-biloba
and the rest; pillage
of my youth. left
for the book sale; to drop
off books and pick up more
from the library floor. ancient
you must think. watch me
amble row to row; I’m not
a Spring chicken; I’m wintering
in the sun; wandering; wondering
if pills are squandered on me.
oh yes, one more thing
I have to…ahem…go

I looked up those pills. You have an excellent mind, dear Kim. You must be doing something right.

I wonder if they have a pill for that last - I would be interested in that. I guess it's been a year since I got my pill box. Who knows what I was taking and how often before that, and also, I know what day of the week it is now. funny and relatable.

As years go by, the number of pills consumed will steadily go up with most of us. Enjoyed your poem with a pinch of humor. Stay healthy , dear!

Good one Kim. Liked the humor in it. I am a retired pharmacist so I found the pill box reference funny.

What a creative write you have here. Today, there is a pill for everything. Do not now if that is a good thing. Have a fun day as you write away.................
