My Nature
Through darkness, soaked in fear
And blinded,
I ventured forward to the sound.
Then darkness whispered in my ear.
I shivered,
Clinging on to what I’d never found.
It spoke to me as if we’re akin.
And its words were so assuring.
I knew it was darkness; it was sin -
As always, charming and alluring.
And I knew that all of me –
Was just a tiny part of it.
And though, its words
Were filled with wit,
There’s one truth darkness
Tried to skip:
It was my master, and I - its slave.
It was our secret I would take to my grave.
