My Mind Begins To Cheer

Ridiculous, whimsical, outrageous, fantastical, crazy, my happy words My go to places, where I exist in between other’s black and white worlds I glance around my living room looking for an idea. The orange lamp sticks out her tongue. Perfect. I can use that. My husband’s door is open, there is bluesy Nina Simone music wafting in. I flip open a dictionary with my eyes closed. Stick in my finger. Bam. It lands on albatross. A rhyming poem begins almost without my help. It is clever and funny, and I can hardly wait to see where it goes. Uh-oh. Is that a giant pink praying mantis on my ceiling? My mind begins to cheer and do summersaults.
