My Lovely Children

I don't recall what went before They brought my baby through that door. They laid him there right by my breast. Every loving mother knows the rest. Any thought of pain just went away. The wonder I still feel today Of holding him, my newborn son, In every way, a perfect one. I was on a cloud. not a narrow bed, As my hand caressed his downy head. What's that you say? You ask again? I don't remember any pain. Before our precious son was four, We had already added more Siblings to our happy family, Two daughters who fit so perfectly. The years went by, too fast for me. He was five, they were two and three. I watched them thrive and grow and grow. Finer human beings I'll never know. My children were never naughty or bad. They wouldn't make their Mommy sad. My grown children laugh and say "You aren't remembering the way We were when we wouldn't mind And you vowed some different kids to find." I tell them.."That nonsense isn't true There were no nicer kids than you." And I know I would do it all again. I can't remember any pain. February 13, 2016

It is so funny how we see the past different from our kids. In a mom's eyes they never see anything wrong our children did. Congratulations on your “My Lovely Children” contest win, Joyce!!! Hugs Eve
