My Love In Rhyme - Sing To Me Contest
Pencil in hand I gaze at the paper
Thinking of what I would say
What words will still a sad heart
Now you're so far away
Thinking of the good times
When life was full of fun
All I have are the memories
Of us basking in the sun
The many shows we went to
The films that made me cry
The romantic evenings
Until you said, "Goodbye"
Off to distant shores for you
With a gun not a pen in your hand
I imagine you close and whisper
Words of love, we both understand
Waiting for you to come home darling
Hoping to forget such times
Now all I can do is put pen to paper
Portraying my love in rhyme
