My Love Hides Her Heart With a Sweet Smile My love hides her heart with a sweet smile, That flirts with my eye like being played on a string. Quickly, I turn my head in denial So, she cannot see that I am staring. I then pretend to look past her again; But she maneuvers to engage my gaze. Twice caught in the act, I blush I would fain, To deflect the embarrassment on my face. Instead, I become emboldened and brave. (Love knows no emotion that it can’t overcome) At her feet, I bare my soul while she smiles As I blurt out words; “I love you,” with my tongue. Herein, the proof is presented; a woman With her smile can deceive the heart of a man.
