written for the contest " what makes me smile" sponsored by Karen J.

I d r e a m away from the golden-laced drapes, tracing smoke-veiled cloudscapes, reminiscing rainbow reveries, raining with musical laughter, mirroring the sun within my maternal spirit, drawing cerulean smiles across the kaleidoscopic sky with initials of my beloved June child. As in acrylics, I find happiness, and in palettes of pastels I feel the twilight twinkles of time, revealing rosemary reasons to rhyme in rhinestone radiance, releasing runes ~ ricocheting colors of my hibiscus heartbeat… O kismet constellations, I breathe glitters of gratitude to the sapphire stars and swirling sparks drifting through shifting monsoons, cradled in the blissful sighs of my son. For in his presence, murky mists of melancholy fade into neon nothingness; in his words, a thousand gardens glisten and glow; in his eyes, I see hues of hope ~ ballad of a seraphic summer. Perhaps, the voice of this unconditional love remains the synonym of happiness, the syllables of zen, and the metaphors of euphoria, bound to the skin ~ of rooted truth, truth of a mother dressed in the dulcet dews seized from the dawn when he learned the light of life… So let me rephrase, in redundant dialects, to write in coherent cadence, of the warmth I weave, of the peace I paint, within jeweled lines of lavender… I smile not because I see no sorrow, but because my existence is a mere iron-arched gateway to guide astral rays above the island shores where his footprints echo, porcelain patterns, erasing fringes from the blemished blurs of grieving moonlight caressing the sanguine sea rippling with turquoise tranquility ~ a tale of teal tomorrow...

This is one of your few poems without a trace of melancholy. I remember whenever you referred to your son or wrote about motherhood, I could see your heart bursting out with pride, love, euphoria and hope. I know your son is the sun giving you warmth in a life blanketed in winter snow. "For in his presence, murky mists of melancholy fade into neon nothingness; in his words, a thousand gardens glisten and glow; in his eyes, I see hues of hope ~ ballad of a seraphic summer." Lovely lines and a wonderfully composed poem of warmth and maternal love. Hearty Congratulations on your well deserved win. Into my FAVE.

Awn i tend to write sad poems always , for some reason, maybe cus i see sadness within so many smiles. And is also why i dont share my poems with those in real life hah. Because i remember being told to write happy poems by some friends long time ago. Thank you for being a sincere reader and feeler of words. You are truly a poetic gem! Sending you light alwayz

Dear Inky, this is like stepping into a dream woven from stardust and soul. The imagery is absolutely breathtaking—every line glows with emotion, color, and quiet power. Whether it's for someone dear, I'm guessing your son,or simply a moment of deep reflection, it carries such warmth and poetic grace. Truly one of those pieces you want to read slowly, just to savor the feeling it leaves behind.

Awwn this is such a heart warming piece and I really love how you have portrayed the bond between a mother and her son in such a beautiful manner! The image which you have eloquently painted here, really immerses my heart in a beautiful universe of emotions dear ink!! The warmth can be felt here in every word you have so intricately woven, specially “ drawing cerulean smiles across the kaleidoscopic sky with initials of my beloved June child”,” For in his presence, murky mists of melancholy fade into neon nothingness; in his words, a thousand gardens glisten and glow; in his eyes, I see hues of hope ~” My gosh, how stunningly you have described that even those cinders of grief fade away when enlightened by the purest light of your child! You have so artistically carved metaphor here in an evocative essence, and I must say that you and your son are truly blessed to have each other in your lives!

That last stanza is absolutely my most favourite! “ I smile not because I see no sorrow, but because my existence is a mere iron-arched gateway to guide astral rays above the island shores where his footprints echo” just wow, the way you have described how you erase every thistle falling in the way of his soft footprints… absolutely love this piece in every way… sending many best wishes for the contest, keep writing and shining my dear fairy goddess ~

A mother’s son must be so proud of his poetess mother and her words that stream across the page from the seraphic muses, through the ink she holds in her delicate hands, into her wistful words of love and kindness. I know her as the Empress of alliterations such as “twilight twinkles of time, revealing rosemary reasons to rhyme in rhinestone radiance, releasing runes ricocheting” Her June child, she speaks so proudly in such beautiful reflections. Bol to you dear poetess ~ Xhugs

Love for a child, written by the hand of his mother could not have been more tenderly expressed in any other words, Ink. If we see our child's eyes glisten and glow, I'm sure that look is reflected in our own a thousand times brighter. It will be a celebration the two of you share next month. This is a write filled with your own light.

You wrote a great poem, dearest Ink, about the immense love and pleasure that a mother feels for her child, coupled with themes of sorrow and the beauty of memory. It delves into the transforming effect of this love, demonstrating how it provides light and happiness even in the face of tragedy. The theme similarly concentrates around a mother's reflections on her connection with her son, employing rich images to portray feelings associated to parenthood, nostalgia, and the interplay of pleasure and melancholy. It explores themes of development, love, and the passing of time through a maternal viewpoint. The poem's language is rich and expressive, with plenty of sensory nuances and emotional impact. Words like "golden-laced," "smoke-veiled," "kaleidoscopic," and "seraphic" evoke vivid images and a dreamy ambiance.
