My Intuition Malfunction - Both Audio and Text

Hypersensitive intuitions usually are an asset, Allowing one to comprehend what many people don’t, But - normally advantageous - mine's sometimes too acute, Tempting me to deal with things the prudent person won't. For instance…just last Friday, as the locker room fell quiet, And everyone had left for home ‘cept me an' "old man Blair", He asked me if I felt a man - whose wife had long been frigid - Could somehow wind up justified in - having an affair! Naturally, I figured he was seeking absolution For something he was…contemplating doing…or - had done! And knowing, if I answered wrong, he'd almost certainly fire me… I let my “intuition" help to choose the proper one. “Well, sir,” I began, “if it were me whose wife was frigid, And someone like your secretary, Betty, came along… I don’t suppose that even guys who'd learned to live without it Would make the claim that sleepin’ around - to fill the void - was wrong! “‘Course…havin’ a foxy secretary makes it so much simpler. And I remember thinkin’ - on the day that she was hired - That - should you ever get the feelin’ - Betty'd do just fine... A chesty broad - that easily blows away that dog you fired'!” Well…turns out Old Man Blair was only being hypothetical, And very much resented that I’d clearly misconstrued The reason for his question, and I knew - by his expression - As far as gettin’ away with how I’d answered…I was screwed! So…as for intuition, well…it’s obvious that I’m slippin’… ‘Cause I just stuck my head completely up my….you-know-what, And, in the future, when a person asks for my advice… I think I’ll prob’ly just play dumb…and keep my big mouth shut! And FYI: I plan to post many of my AUDIO files over the next few months, most from my 4 new AUDIO-CDs, along with many more text files from my several books of verse. (Only a few CDs and books left - 2-14-21). Because, as with most poets, it simply depends on the mood I’m in at writing time, my pieces vary greatly, from lightheartedly comical to meaningfully poignant, and even a few slightly irreverent works.
