and post notes and photos about your poem like Regina Mcintosh.
It feels like you’ve been talking on the phone
To a wonderful old friend who you’ve known
Forever, since you were in high school or even
Younger; possibly in grade school…
When you read a poem that you can truly
Relate to, a poem that touches you at your very
Core, somewhere deep in your inner being,
Where so few understand, only that old friend.
Is this poet someone who actually knows you?
Trusting in your instinct, your intuition…
You jump, head first, into the middle of their poetry,
Like someone jumps from a diving board
Into a chlorine scented sapphire pool,
Bursting into the water with jubilation, a thrill
That comes from having just discovered
A piece of your own heart
