My Girl

I saw you While I was walking my short brown dog Clouds inflated with sunlight Pink sky reflected in snow It’s winter again And I’m in love I hear your laugh on Sunday morning The morning dove’s call I don’t know what I thought it’d be Not intoxicated smiles Or mini pumpkins Hands collapsed Walking out of Sprouts You’re rainy walks in July The smell of lavender Walking through a meadow Grass brushes against fingertips You’re my girl
