My Favorite Pastime Is Me

Now I will tell you about myself, My looks, my loves, my desire for approval. First my favorite past time, I'll say Is to play games with Sun1ite, my human. I bark at odd times in the day, Just to get let outside, For I know she'll hand me a treat, As frustrated as she is inside. And then there's my love of sleeping, Wherever I lie, I snore, Sun1ite thinks it's sweet and soothing, Keeps me busy and not scratching the floor. And now, I'll speak of my beauty, My bright black eyes and black nose, Fluffy white fur that covers her carpet, But that keeps her busy and indoors. All in all my favorite pastime is ME, I do what I want when I want don't you see, My job is to protect and be cute and gorgeous, That's just the way God made me. My favorite pastime is ME.

oh I LOVE this personification!! I do not put MY dog in such a good light in the poem I wrote about Ollyver!! This is wonderful, Sunlite. (hope I got it right. I guess it could be a cat but those tend to purr and not snore)

I couldn't find a poem I recognized might be about Ollyver. Could you give me the name?

You have it right, Andrea - she's a little white furry mess! Thank you for commenting. I'm going to jump over and read about Ollyver.

Sunlite Wanter. I do not own a pet, but once did as a child. I find this poem most delightful. Thanks for the creativity. Blessings.

A poem that reaffirms the authors' love for her companion, friend and free spirit all embodied within her beloved dog. Well written through your dog's perspective. Emile.

Such a cute perspective on the dog's egocentric nature. I think cat's are the same. Both feel we were created to serve them and, boy, do we feed into that by spoiling them. A delightful poem, Sunlite!

I can imagine my dogs are probably thinking the same thing. This was cute Sunlite, maybe I'll read this to them when I get home tonight, but they'll probably just look at me and think, don't give me poetry, just give me treat. :)

Yeah, you're right, Chris. Faith, Hope and Charity can all be summed up in a little dog's face waiting for that treat.

Oh how adorable :-) I experienced a tragedy with a dog I loved as if my own and am just beginning to research for a puppy. Your beautiful heartwarming words made me smile with remembrance of all I shared, and feel happy that I am nearly ready for my own to 'play games' with:) Lovely writing, a joy to read. thank you. lynnxxx
