My Elusive Muse
Like the fiery sun at dusk
setting the sky aflame
splashing twilight hues across
and burning deep shadows
in the landscape,
The image of my silhouetted muse
glows like neon in the gathering darkness.
Flushed with sensual anticipation,
She blazes a trail on my soul
with searing heat of inspiration
as I espy her with burning desires.
Far yonder
Never near,
Taunting from a distance,
Beckoning like a temptress
Teasing like a whimsical wind
Just out of reach like a dream…
Now here, now gone;
Is she an illusion or a wistful whim?
Why does she always have to
leave me in a barren state?
