My Ecclesiastical Grenade
Once sealed tight
the eyelids of
my shrouded eye
nestled in the crumbling confines
of this teetering temporal form
auspiciously slip apart
my cradled cornea now
lugubriously leering at the
plainly demarcated peripheries
of this leery physical plane
Turquoise tellurian irises
spotted by a drop of
festive fuchsia flame
squint for clarity
as it propitiously beams, gleans,
then unweaves the sinews
that faintly fasten
the virgin mother's lapis jewels to a
fivefold lunar string of
simmering sacral supernovas
which gallantly trim the
ascetic's pronounced smile
seconds before
he pulls the pin
and ignites
my ecclesiastical grenade
