My Dream Vacation

My Dream Vacation My dream vacation begins when I open my eyes To the beautifully bright sunshine To birds tweeting out their news to neighboring birds And, I greet the day in my usual way Exiting my bed. My vacation isn’t a dream after all it seems It is my day to live life anew And, be blessed by God’s sweet morning dew Hot coffee in one hand and my iPhone in the other With this morning's verse. Dreams are things best lest to the sleeping And, I want time with God To ask him my heart's yearnings and for peace in these uncertain times To praise him for sweet California weather And, all that today will hold. I could not have dreamed of a better life I could not have wished for a truer mate I could have lived differently and still been okay Because my dreams are stored in God’s heart And, my faith brings me joy. The joy that no vacation can measure up to I am aware of the pain of others I am aware of the work He wants me to do And, that is where this dream ends. I must get up and go. I must share God’s joy The blessings he has bestowed upon me and my family And, help others find their grace, Their peace, their forgiveness And, trust that what I give brings them respite.
