My Dream of Heaven
For You, Dad -
Heaven shines, stunning me with God’s glory,
and dreams of your song. Glimpses of your face
come to me; my soul fills with the story
of our Savior’s love, and I walk in grace,
love pouring from the source, a joyous place.
Then, I wake to the stress of day and strain
to hear your drumstick’s sweet rhythm again,
listening for angels to shout amen.
Still, the warmth of my memories remain,
so 'til I see you, I’ll dream of Heaven.
