My Double Sided Tongue

Here I am, who is relatively normal except my tongue has two sides which can be misleading to others not knowing its side, narrow or wide You see it can speak normally meaning it's fluent and in its flow when all of its faculties are in control people understand not seeing your woes Then at other times, I stammer badly being anxious and tense, feel no peace every word is a battle to get it out makes me feel will this fight never cease? There is a constant fight within to see who wins over every word one has battles tossing to and fro no one side always wins, that's absurd But these two sides go to the grave in the end, they will lie side by side no more strength left to fight on the battle will be over even life's ride (I've written this poem because there are two sides to every story so this is my look at my own double-sided tongue as it happens to be.)

Man’s - louder than words - actions and deeds reach, The King was loved before his dreaded speech! Have a nice day, Gordon!

Having no more will to fight, may well be the answer. Go with the flow, it cant win if you don't contest it. Cast the frustration you feel to the wind, and as my dear husband did before he was cured, pretend when you speak that you are talking to a 3 year old. Try it, it worked for him. If not, then nothing lost. You are a fine poet Gordon, I wish I could hear your bonnie Scottish Brogue.

Thanks again Wendy, that's an interesting thing your husband worked for him though I tried it on the past but wasn't succesful. It has been a lot better in the past six months for during the time of covid it was terribly bad. Thanks for your kind thoughts and hope all is well with you, Gordon

I have read a couple of your poems where you have referred to your stammering ! Compared to many other disabilities, this is so simple. Glad you are able to look at it in a very light way and make fun of yourself ! I agree with Vijay's comment ! To eclipse your shortcoming, you have so many qualities of the head and heart! So rejoice, dear friend

Thanks Valsa, Regarding my stammering no simple thing especially when you've got to deal with every day and most people tend to ignore you in daily life. Even if I have these other qualities that doesn't stop my biggest drawback being your main handicap. My apologies if I sound ungrateful but you've got me on a bad day so hopefully I'll be better on another day.

Heartfelt introspection, Gordon. As is always the case in life, God bestowed upon you compensating qualities of love and goodwill towards all. Be blessed my friend.
