My Double Sided Tongue
Here I am, who is relatively normal
except my tongue has two sides
which can be misleading to others
not knowing its side, narrow or wide
You see it can speak normally
meaning it's fluent and in its flow
when all of its faculties are in control
people understand not seeing your woes
Then at other times, I stammer badly
being anxious and tense, feel no peace
every word is a battle to get it out
makes me feel will this fight never cease?
There is a constant fight within
to see who wins over every word
one has battles tossing to and fro
no one side always wins, that's absurd
But these two sides go to the grave
in the end, they will lie side by side
no more strength left to fight on
the battle will be over even life's ride
(I've written this poem because there are two sides to every story so this is my look at my own double-sided tongue as it happens to be.)
