My Daily Routine

Sit-ups and jumping jacks are in my past I knew my overworked knees wouldn't last. Time was I could run a mile in twenty But now the walk to my rocker is plenty. They used to say "no pain - no gain," If you don't mind, I think I'll use my cane. Years went faster'n I thought they would Mind if I rest, I don't feel nearly so good. My joints are aching, I'm all tuckered out I'm feeling an onset of arthritis, no doubt. The cat is telling me she wants my lap She's right, it is time for my afternoon nap. written July 21, 2021

Your cat sounds like my dog. When I say "night night" she runs to the bed. I liked this one!

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Caren. No fiction here, except I don't have either a dog or a cat now. When I had them, they always knew when bedtime came, and if I stayed up too long, they would let me hear about it.

I've been known to "nip" a little tonic in the evenings. My goodness, I hadn't heard of Geritol in years. Is it still around?

There’s nothing nicer than an afternoon nap especially when the cat's snug on your lap.I sympathise with the pain even though I’m just the same… Belle

I know how you feel! I just bought a treadmill to urge me to walk more. In Jazzercize, we said "it hurts so good" Well, no it doesn't! Not anymore. Your cat has the right idea :) Your poem is great!

Thanks, Ann. I have one of those legXercizer contraptions. It has really improved my legs and my walking. Amazing. I highly recommend it (unsolicited ad).
