My cat loves to eat. Sitting all day in the house, she is getting fat. Thinking of that, I ought to get up and go for a jog! Written May 27, 2016 For the Traditional Tanka Contest of Charlotte Puddifoot

.Lord, I have a lot of these color. Let's call this one our Mamma Mia. Mamma Mia gets to go outdoors and loves to climb trees and get up on the roof. The movies have black cats as evil. Actually, they are the most loving of all the species. Give your cat a big hug for me. Love, daver

A humorous tanka, Andrea. Our cat stays slim...runs in the back yard and garden and races against the tortoise; it's surprising how fast a tortoise cab be! // paul

"Jogging", or as I like to call it "running", is a calling: from too much cheese, and too many wines. And a silly desire to be less of a human.

Yep! I think I'm getting fat cat status too. My two cats don't sit and write poetry, nor lift a paw to do much (unless it's trouble)! Fun one.

The cat may offer you inspiration, but unless you have determination, my advice is cut down on your intake! I had to do that with my dachshund; he's overweight and can no longer jump into the car, so he waits for me to pick him up. Thanks always for stopping by, always good to hear from you. / Maurice

I'm glad I sounded convincing. I have been dieting all year and lost fifteen pounds. Yay for me and I still need to lose ten more to reach my personal ideal for my age!

This is such a fun read, Andrea-- made me snicker and somehow also thought of Garfield! Good kitty cat though to help remind you to jog (me, I'm lazy and will probably just doze off, and join the cat, haha!) I missed this contest, was planning to write one-- didn't get past 2 lines, next thing I know, it's closed. Btw, I saw Chris' comments below-- haha I can definitely see why this reminded him of his My Cat write! I kinda (?!) went crazy with that one before...

P. S. With the amount of poetry reading that you do, I imagine it's difficult to make time for super-lengthy narratives, so I understand!

Literally made me chuckle. I liked this one, Andrea. Though traditional in syllable count, I think it's more modern as far as the humor goes! House pets have it so easy ...
