My Colorful Wife

My Colorful Wife There was a time that you had died Could not sustain and how I cried I blamed your God who gave you life Took it away and gave me strife The redness of your auburn hair Your hazel eyes that we both shared The leeward path away from wind To a verdant leafy abode And daisies framed a yellow door We conjured up something blue The lake we sailed and only you Could paint a picture with your thought And earthtone colors Nature caught A forest and it’s natural clime The colors of my past had changed But illness captured you too soon You died beneath a somber moon That left your colors all unseen With darkened shades to hide the green created such a dismal scene I had your headstone colored puce With yellow letters for your name In hopes your Muses visit you I lay my flowers by your stone of many colors to be shone A portrait that will withstand time Poems that paint a pictire 2 Contest Sponsored by Silent One September 16, 2017

Dropping by to wish you Merry Christmas. I enjoyed reading this one again. You never did tell me how your trip to Canada was. Ontario is a great part of the country. I was originally born in Northern Ontario.
