"A new soul in the making, I am just waking, all previous memory erased, with a new life I am faced"~~ The Poet I need no religion to know what’s right. I need no church for my love to ignite. I need no book to tell me what to do. I need no hymns for my faith to renew. Be good to every man, woman & child. Be fair and honest with a heart ever mild. Be mindful of others who have a different way. Be willing to share what I have each day. Don’t ever look down on anyone at all. Unless I am helping them up after they fall. Truth is, my belief doesn’t even have a name. It keeps me from going wrong, just the same. I know there must be a higher power than just me. To crank the handles and replace each battery. Someone to control all in this realm. A creator of all, someone at the helm.

Not everyone needs a church or a temple to let them know they are good people at heart. There are those that act more like Christians than those who claim it. I am thankful for the ones with common sense like the image of the man on top of the roof. I agree meditation and a deity of gratefulness and helping others is better than the worldwide religions that no one can live up to. Yours is a perfect list to live by. A favorite! :)

Beautiful Anaya, Gandhi once said " I like your Christ, however I cant say I like Christians, they are so unlike your Christ " I don't go to church and honestly I don't feel less loved by our Maker. I certainly don't love Him less. Anything that puts people in groups, in my mind is provoking discontent between those groups. Common agreement can only bring tolerance and understanding and love. One religion, and it doesn't need a name. Wish we lived closer, I feel I already know you.

But what if there is a book that tells us exactly what God says? What if a child looks at his dad and says no, I’ll look elsewhere and not believe or claim you or read your letters. I know how to walk and talk without you. Wouldn’t our creator, the one who gave us the ability to think, let us know he exists. Perhaps we want to stomp our feet and do what we want to do. Boundaries of a parent free us and protect us. Just thoughts…

I agree with you Kim. Seeker put a disclaimer on his contest, maybe my entry needed a disclaimer. This was written purely in answer to a contest, about a reborn person who had only fresh ideas no knowledge of any religion. My view on how they may see things. I was born into a Christian family with much religious training. In honesty its only in recent years I don't go to church because I have no Faith in Priests. That hasn't lessened my faith in God. I no longer call myself a Catholic.
