Musical Memory
Musical Memory
I hear your song
Break through silence.
Do you sing of freedom?
As you fly?
A happy tune
Coming from the treetops.
I look for you
In the pines above.
When I do,
Life’s simplicity
Falls gently between
The layers of branches.
I watch nature
Have its own life.
Where ominous worry
Does not exist.
Your music brings me
To the other side.
So easily missed
In the rush of today.
Walking with pain,
It is easy to get lost.
Until your song
Awakens me.
I greet calm water.
Touched by the warmth
Of shining sun rays
Reaching down on me.
When I leave this sanctuary,
A musical memory plays on
To remind me
What life is all about, I see.
