A beautiful poem, Paul. I like that she found new love but I guess she quit her visits to his grave :(

A beautiful and touching piece. You see the widow visiting the grave of the deceased spouse. She misses him greatly, she is very lonely. Eventually the pain of his passing grows dimmer and the ache subsides. She meets someone, perhaps a widower. They start to keep company. Nice. Good write. Congrats. God Bless, JB

Excellent write Paul. Great piece with a touch of emotion. A heartfelt poem that touches us all. Sometimes when judging I tend to overlook or mis-judge great poetry.. This may be one of those times. Congratulations on your win my friend. All the best.. Charlie

Indeed, Jeanne...the heart remembers, and often that is what leads us back to the cemetery to visit our loved ones. Thank you for the visit and warm comments. Regards // paul

Great Haiku, Paul. Good luck in the contest. So true for so many that have lost their mates. I've know 3 people that lost their mates almost the same time my husband passed , 2 married right away ,, the other started dating as soon as his wife passed. I'm still going to visit, but we were loners.. only our children and grandchildren were in our lives.

It is a case of different people and different circumstances, Eve. People who were very close find it hard to let go; others accept and adjust. Thank you for your feedback. Hugs // paul

I sometimes think that weeds grow by graves to keep them company, especially when no one goes to visit. Thank you for your pleasant visit, Anne-Lise. Hugs // paul

Thank you, Sandra. Unknowingly our visits gradually become less and less, but even so, I find that now my visits last longer somehow. Hugs // paul
