Cold rain is my companion on this night that's gone askew I walk the street alone, my heart in splinters and shattered Rain mingles with tears; my world blurred in shades of blue Love is a paradox of emotions, tossed about and scattered I walk the street alone, my heart in splinters and shattered Shadows lengthened in the lambency of burning lamp light Love is a paradox of emotions, tossed about and scattered Melancholy memories haunt me in cloudy visions tonight Shadows lengthened in the lambency of burning lamp light You say it's over and now I’m left with a fragmented heart Melancholy memories haunt me in cloudy visions tonight My pain is raw. Thanks so much Lin I much prefer writing fun poems and struggled a little with the sad theme but in the end we wrote a fabulous pantoum and it was my privilege to write with you again as I admire you so much as a brilliant poet and fabulous friend:-) hugs jan xx

Wow! Jan, You and your "unknown" collaborator have written a well written pantoum. I enjoy writing in this form. I could feel an intense feeling of pain and loneliness due to a bad break -up. Excellent job. I wish you both the best of luck in the contest:-) Alexis

My recent surgery hit me harder than I ever expected and i never dreamed i could be so tired and now this infection on top plus the surgeon found a blood clot in my boobie but I have several funny poems to post so the humour is there just the opportunity to be active on soup hasn't. :-( hugs jan xx
