Mother's Gems

My daughters just went shopping, and told me "Mama, hide your eyes! " When they came in the front door, With a Mother's Day surprise. They carried several loads of bags from my dear daughter's car, With smiles, laughs and giggles For the day we mamas star They always each will ask me, "Mom? What do you want this year?" I tell each child "Nothing, just you children, each sweet dear." And I truly mean it, but they do it anyway, They always bring me presents Every year on Mother's Day. And now that most my daughters, Have children of their own, And every single child of mine Is raised all up and grown, Mother's Day is filled with flowers, cards and Sweet things too, Yet the sweetest thing of all is Our Family's love so true. My daughters gave me flowers An early gift today, A colorful and brilliant bunch, A wonderful bouquet! Loveliness, what beauty! But more lovely each sweet gem, The brilliant precious priceless ones. I have in each of them!

I hear the contented musings of a mother. It is lucky to have daughters. I have two sons. They gift me with presents on my birthday and on our wedding anniversary, but no gift on Mother's day. Of course, they send a message on Mother's Day which I consider as a sweet gesture! But it is with envy that I look on mothers of daughters. Beautifully written dear BJ

Sigh, no, she passed away twelve years and one month ago. Maybe she knows about it though, I imagine she is still very interested in the generations unfolding. As a mother and grandma of 15 (counting one miscarried grandchild in heaven), I think I will be watching over them when I dwell on that other shore, if permitted :) Thank you for visiting and for your comment Victor. :)
