Motherly - Nyasia Wiley
How can you heal a broken heart
When the purity of your own
Has been tainted
With the viewpoints of hatred
For the souls you trusted
With your own
How can I not run
When my own life has been
Nothing but a pure understanding
Of my own pain and suffering
For yet I give you all I can
Knowing that the only person that
Suffers, in the end, is me
But I will smile
And say “I love you”
As if that is what the mother
I never had
Said to me
Because being the person
I never had
I became motherly
