She bursts into the room
After a night of slumber
Racing toward the front door
Thundering paws in motion
Scratching her nails against
The surface of that opening
Into the wild, warm world
Where she’ll meet the morning
Sunshine pouring across the
Emerald yard, through the
Trees and onto the petals of
Blushing rose, azure and orange
Vibrant colors to share with
The dawn who laughs at her
Playful heart who roams the
Outdoors and breathes light
From the rising sun who falls
Softly and brilliant on the coat
Of this gentle, agile little pup!
